Alexan St. Elmo

Trammell Crow Residential developed Alexan St. Elmo under its Alexan brand, which also covers Alexan Springdale and Alexan Waterloo in Austin; RPM Living manages it. The eight-acre site was vacant land when the Planning Commission voted 9-2 in December 2021 to recommend rezoning it from general commercial services to the city’s highest-density multifamily category — an application by Legacy Communities that capped height at 60 feet rather than the 90 the new zoning would allow, pulled setbacks back 25 feet front and side, and reserved a share of homes for households below median family income. Twenty plans run from a 570 sq ft studio to a 1,540 sq ft two-bedroom, one of them a two-bedroom with a separate office. A fifth-floor sky lounge with an entertaining kitchen overlooks the city, and the property adds a courtyard with a fire feature, a remote office suite with a private conference room, and a dog park with a grooming salon. Williamson Creek greenbelt is close by.
