MAA South Lamar

Ardent Residential conceived the project for Post Properties, identified the site and ran the neighborhood and City of Austin negotiations, entitlement, permitting and design coordination; Post handled construction and property management. It opened as Post South Lamar and was among the first Austin projects to use the city’s Vertical Mixed Use ordinance. The first phase, 298 homes with 8,500 sq ft of retail, finished in March 2013; a second phase of 344 homes on three adjoining acres followed in June 2017 and added 600 sq ft of restaurant and retail space. MAA, which now owns and operates it, lists a 401 sq ft studio at the low end and a 1,252 sq ft two-bedroom at the high end. Shared spaces include a rooftop terrace with downtown and Hill Country views, an urban bark park and EV charging.
