The Markson Austin

The NRP Group, a Cleveland-based multifamily developer, completed The Markson in April 2024 at a cost of $60 million, building it with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin on financing from Amegy Bank and J.P. Morgan Asset Management. It is named for Dan Markson, a former NRP executive. More than half the apartments are set aside for households earning at or below 80 percent of area median income; at completion, rents for those essential-worker homes started at $1,442 a month against $1,790 for the market-rate ones. Residents share a coworking lounge, conference rooms, a coffee bar, a game room, an outdoor kitchen, a dog park and volleyball and bocce courts.
