The Residences at ATX Tower

Tishman Speyer and Ryan Companies US developed ATX Tower at the southeast corner of West Sixth and Guadalupe, with Ryan Companies also acting as general contractor. Handel Architects served as design architect and architect of record for the exterior, working with the Austin firm Page. The project was known for years simply by its address, 321 West Sixth, and went through a significant redesign before breaking ground. Handel used an angled structural transfer system that carries the residential floors over column-free office space below, and the building is described as the first high-rise designed to the American Society of Civil Engineers prestandard for performance-based wind design. It topped out in 2024 and was completed in 2025. Roughly 140,000 square feet of offices sit between the parking podium and the apartments — PNC relocated its Austin headquarters there in 2026 and added crown signage — while a double-height retail bay, leased to an all-day cafe, anchors the street corner. A sky lounge and terrace occupy one of the uppermost floors. The project targeted LEED Silver and an Austin Energy Green Building 3-Star rating.
