Onion Creek is southeast Austin’s creek country, in the 78744 ZIP code between I-35 and McKinney Falls Parkway. The creek gives the area its name and its best-known landmark, McKinney Falls State Park, where Onion Creek and Williamson Creek meet over limestone falls. The creek has also flooded badly, most notably in 2013 and 2015, and the city has since bought out many flood-prone homes along its banks. Bluff Springs Road, Slaughter Lane and Burleson Road link it to I-35, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is a short drive east.
